Champagne & Fried Chicken, the annual drive-through, pick-up picnic fundraiser for the Birmingham chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, allows us to award grants and scholarships to women pursuing culinary careers across our state. To date, we’ve given more than $120,000 to women of all ages to help them grow their businesses and continue their studies.
This year’s event is set for Sunday, October 2 at Pepper Place.

This is one fun and tasty fundraiser!
Enjoy a gourmet picnic for two featuring gluten-free Southern-fried chicken (with a vegetarian option), potato salad with shallot vinaigrette & herbs, kale salad with dried fruit, biscuits, pear & cheese, cornbread muffins, homemade banana pudding and a cold bottle of Cremant de Bourgogne packed into a reusable market bag. You’ll also get a handful of colorful dahlias from Stone Hollow Farmstead. Pick it all up at our easy, friendly drive-through at Pepper Place and picnic where you want–even at the tables we set up on site!

Your food will be prepared by the following Dames: Crystal Peterson (and her mom, Ms. Denise) of Yo’ Mama’s Restaurant, Joy Smith of Sorelle Café & Catering, Kathy G. Mezrano of Kathy G & Co., Kay Reed of IZ Weddings & Events, Ashley McMakin of Ashley Mac’s, Stacey Craig from The Bright Star with fresh salad greens from Margaret Anne Snow at Snow’s Bend Farm and dessert from Betsy McAtee and her team at Dreamland Bar-B-Que and Stefanie Maloney of Scrumptious catering.
We’ll include plates, napkins, cutlery and even flowers! The complete picnic, in a reusable market bag, is your gift for a $175 donation. For an additional donation, you may choose a premium cocktail kit with two cocktails for two (one whisky-based, the other an espresso martini). We also have $25 raffle tickets for 12 $100 gift cards (a year’s worth of fabulous dining!) from some of Birmingham’s most exciting restaurants! And, thanks to our generous donors, we’ll have two drawings!
Our picnics are sure to sell out. You can get yours here.
